Sherwin-Williams recently revealed color palettes to forecast 2021 design trends. We're taking a look at the calmest palette - Sanctuary. Filled with neutrals, Sanctuary is refined and subdued sophistication, with a hint of warmth.
Fun fact: Most of Perennials’ top fabrics are white, beige, and grey. Clients love our fabrics because they can live with an all-white sofa without worry. When Sherwin-Williams announced their 2021 ColorMix forecast, one color palette caught our eye. Inspired by the concept of nesting, Sanctuary is a feeling we are more than familiar with after months of social distancing.

Punch it Up with Pillows
Tracy Morris Design incorporated plush pillows in the banquette dining design above.
“Creating a sanctuary is all about a space that feels comfortable and relaxed. We created a banquette with lots of pillows for a casual dining space but still had a bit of fun with the chair fabric,” explains Tracy Morris. “Using Perennials is great for creating a sanctuary so you don’t have to stress about spills or stains. You can really enjoy the space with family and friends.”
Neutral Patterns
Tonal neutral prints and patterns create intrigue in a sophisticated way. Perennials’ Ink Blot quality in White Sands is a fun yet elegant upholstery option.
“We love the understated elegance of a neutral, organic pattern – with the added benefit of being high performance for an active family,” say Beth Dotolo and Carolina Gentry of Pulp Design Studios.
Texture is Key
Nashville-based interior designer Chelsea Robinson created the serene space above. Chelsea notes, “For this living room we used soft whites mixed with neutral tones and textures to create the perfect environment for a peaceful & beautiful beach house retreat – understated elegance at its best!”
